Brian Brown Studio

San Diego, California

Brian Brown Studio is a client-focused, full-service design firm operating out of sunny San Diego, California. This firm produces elegant and playful designs, but where they truly shine is their emphasis on giving their clients exactly what they want. When working with Brian Brown Studio, it’s a priority that the client’s design vision shines bright through every process of the remodel.

Brian Brown, the founder and principal designer of Brian Brown Studio, has worked in the creative world of interior design for over ten years. While earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in interior design, Brian learned what running a design business looked like from working at a large firm in San Diego. Always eager to learn more, he continued to educate himself about furniture construction, fabric wearability, and scale by working in galleries and showrooms. Today, he proudly owns his own design business where he specializes in the ever evolving style of contemporary design.

Since Brian’s team avoids using the same materials and designs for each project, this home in San Diego is truly a one of a kind masterpiece. The client knew she wanted her 2,739 square foot home to feel more open and better organized, but for everything else she gave Brian complete control.

Since the home had beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, Brian wanted to maximize them by opening up some of the exterior walls and adding massive windows and modern sliders, which when opened made the outdoor deck an extension of the living area. Moving into the master bedroom, the natural beauty of the salty ocean was the clear star of the space. Brian centered his efforts to not detract from the spectacular view, and carried in the spa vibe from the master bathroom.

As the kitchen, dining room, and living room were all neighbors, it was important that all the colors and materials used were very similar so that a cohesive flow could be felt between the three spaces. A black mosaic wall became the focal point of the living room, adding texture and contrast. The home was finished with various pieces of artwork in the foyer and dining room.
